Roller Blender

The Roller Blender is a so called "volume blender" , that is used for automatic card feeding and for storage of small blends. It is mainly used where economical, architectural, organisatorical reasons are against the use of a Emptying unit or Mixmaster.

The Roller Blender is the ideal alternative or addition to both of the named machinery, because it gives you flexibility with small blends.

The Roller Blender is a modular machine and consits basically of:

  • Storage box

  • (several) Blending device with pair of feed rollers and one opening roller underneath

  • Fibre collecting belt

  • Cross conveyor

Function:

The Roller blender is fed from top by a disc opener, fine opener or other opening machine until the maximum filling level is reached. Fibre distribution into the storage box is executed by a rotary spreader.

Afterwards the broadside arranged pair(s) of feed rollers transport the fibre material to their assigned opening roller(s). Filling level in the storage box is constantly monitored by light barriers to achieve a well balanced filling level.

The pinned opening rollers itself ensure an additional opening and blending of the fibres, before the material drops onto the fibre collecting belt. Due to the use of several blending devices side by side and the resulting horizontal horizontal fibre layers, a homogeneous blend is achieved.

The number of blending devices is depending on the available floor space as well as the size of the blends.

The ready fibre blend is transported by the fibre collecting belt towards the cross conveyor, which delivers it to a suction fan at the end of the machine.
